What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our typical process for working with a new customer begins with a free initial consultation to discuss the student's needs, goals, and learning style. Following this, we conduct an assessment to identify strengths and areas for improvement, which informs a customized learning plan tailored specifically for the student. We then schedule flexible tutoring sessions that fit the customer's availability. Throughout the tutoring process, we maintain open communication with the student and their parents, providing regular updates on progress and making adjustments as needed to ensure effective learning outcomes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Apex EdU tutors are highly qualified professionals with master's degrees and teaching credentials. Our team includes engineers who tutor math and a science tutor with a Master of Science in Biochemistry. Many have collaborated with professors on research projects in their respective fields. All our tutors are passionate about teaching and bring their extensive academic and professional experience to provide top-quality educational support.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As I worked with students from various backgrounds, I discovered that each one had unique challenges and strengths. This realization fueled my desire to create a supportive learning environment where students could thrive. Today, I lead a team of dedicated tutors at Apex EdU, all of whom share that same passion for teaching and helping others succeed.
What types of customers have you worked with?
At Apex EdU, we've had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of customers, from elementary school students needing foundational support to high schoolers preparing for college entrance exams. One memorable experience was helping a high school student who struggled with math but dreamed of pursuing engineering. After several sessions, not only did their grades improve, but they also gained the confidence to apply to their dream program. We've also supported adult learners returning to education, providing them with the tools and encouragement they need to succeed. Each customer brings a unique story, and we’re proud to be part of their educational journey.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One project I'm particularly proud of involved tutoring a high school student struggling with chemistry and biology. Over a semester, we met twice a week, using engaging tools like molecular models and online simulations to make complex concepts more relatable. As we connected the subjects, the student’s understanding and enthusiasm grew. By the end, their grades improved significantly, and they decided to pursue biochemistry in college. It was incredibly rewarding to see their transformation and newfound passion for the sciences.
